How to Use the Vulpés Elysea IPL Device: Step-by-Step Treatment Guide
This guide shows you exactly how to use the Vulpés Elysea IPL device safely and effectively—from prepping your skin to choosing the right mode and caring for treated areas. Follow each step to achieve long-lasting, smooth results at home.

Step 1: Preparation before first use
Shave the area you want to treat. Do not wax or pluck, as the IPL device needs the hair root intact for effective light absorption.
After shaving, gently exfoliate (peel) the skin to remove dead skin cells and reduce the chance of ingrown hairs.
Make sure the skin is clean, dry, and completely free from lotions, oils, deodorants, or perfumes.

Step 2: Cover birthmarks or tattoos
Use sticker patches or a white cosmetic pencil/eyeliner to cover any tattoos or dark birthmarks before treatment. This prevents burns or discoloration, as dark areas absorb more light energy.

Step 3: Choose the right intensity level
Start with Level 1 or 2, especially if you have sensitive skin. If your skin reacts well after a couple of sessions, you can gradually increase the intensity up to Level 5 for better results.
Recommended intensity by area:
- Face: Level 1–2 (skin here is more delicate)
- Arms: Level 2–3
- Legs: Level 3–5 (thicker skin and hair)
- Bikini zone: Level 2–3 (start low; increase gradually if tolerated)
- Armpits: Level 2–4
- Back: Level 3–5 (especially for thicker hair)
Always do a patch test before treating a new area, and adjust the intensity based on your skin's sensitivity and comfort.

Step 4: Put on safety glasses
Before activating the device, wear the included safety glasses to protect your eyes from the IPL flashes.

Step 5: Manual/Automatic Mode
Manual Mode: Ideal for smaller or curved areas (e.g., underarms, bikini line). Press the flash button once to release a single flash.
Automatic ModePress and hold the flash button for 5 seconds until automatic mode begins.
To switch back to manual: Press the button briefly once.

Step 5: Treatment
Place the device flat against the skin, ensuring full contact. The flash will only activate when proper contact is made. The display button will light up blue once proper contact is ensured.
Move systematically across the area, spacing the flashes evenly. Avoid flashing the same spot multiple times in one session.

Step 6: Aftercare
Apply SPF 30+ if the treated skin will be exposed to the sun.
Use a soothing lotion, such as aloe vera or panthenol, to calm the skin.
Avoid saunas, hot baths, or intense exercise for 24 hours after each session.

Step 7: Maintenance
After the initial 12-week plan, perform touch-up treatments every 6–12 months to maintain long-term smoothness.
